PPP Projects – City Hospitals

A significant part of the company’s operations consists of city hospitals built and operated under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Akfen Construction serves as a service provider in three city hospitals (Isparta City Hospital, Eskişehir City Hospital, and Tekirdağ City Hospital) under the PPP model.

Following the delivery of the site by the Ministry of Health to the relevant Project Company in August 2015, the foundation for the first city hospital construction was laid. Currently, out of 17 city hospitals operating under the PPP model in Turkey, three are managed by the company’s subsidiaries. The company has completed the construction and started the operation of three city hospitals in Isparta, Eskişehir, and Tekirdağ, with the latest being Tekirdağ City Hospital in 2020. The total bed capacities in these hospitals are 845 for Isparta, 1,150 for Eskişehir, and 605 for Tekirdağ.

• Isparta City Hospital began accepting patients on 17.03.2017, following the issuance of the completion certificate by the Ministry of Health on 01.03.2017, and became operational. The PPP model contract for Isparta City Hospital will expire on 05.11.2039.
• Eskişehir City Hospital began accepting patients on 27.10.2018, following the issuance of the completion certificate by the Ministry of Health on the same date, and became operational. The PPP model contract for Eskişehir City Hospital will expire on 31.12.2044.
• Tekirdağ City Hospital began accepting patients on 05.12.2020, following the issuance of the completion certificate by the Ministry of Health on 30.11.2020, and became operational. The PPP model contract for Tekirdağ City Hospital will expire on 01.02.2043.
