Selim Akın, graduated from Surrey University, Business Administration Department in the United Kingdom, and after coming back to Turkey Mr. Akın started his professional career in the Akfen Holding Accounting Department and later served in the Project Development and Finance Departments.
The main projects in which he participated are the privatization and financing of Vehicle Inspection Stations, the privatization and financing of Mersin Port and Akfen Holding’s public offering and bond issue. Besides his Chairman of the Board of Directors role at Akfen İnşaat ve Turizm A.Ş. and İstanbul Fast Ferries (İDO), Mr. Akın also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO at Akfen Holding and its various subsidiaries.
Mr. Akın is a member of TÜSİAD, Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TTYD), Young Businessmen Association of Turkey (TÜGİAD) and Turkish Contractors Association (TMB) Supervisory Board. He has also been serving as DEİK representative since 2018.
Pelin AKIN ÖZALP – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors
After graduating from Surrey University, UK, in 2010, Pelin Akın Özalp started her career in the Deutsche Bank. Following her return to Turkey, she attended the MT Program of TAV Airports Holdings. Later moving on to the parent company, she has been serving as a Board Member in Akfen Holding as of 2012.
She is an active member of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors at TİKAV (Turkish Human Resources Education and Health Foundation) and Vice President of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award-Türkiye National Committee. She is also Chairwoman at the Advisory Board of the Contemporary Turkish Studies Chair founded in London School of Economics since 2010.
She has been serving in DEİK(Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey) as a Board Member in Spanish, British and US Business Councils. She is also a Board Member of Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TTYD), Turkey Business Women’s Association (TIKAD), the Marine Environment Protection Association (TURMEPA), Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TURKONFED) and American Turkish Society (ATS) Boards and in Steering Committee Member of Inclusive Capitalism at the moment.
Previously, her experience entails different Board Memberships in various networks such as Association of Family Businesses (TAİDER) and Turkey Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Young Entrepreneurs Advisory Councils, Association of Women in Board of Directors (YKKD). She was elected as the youngest deputy board member in TUSIAD in 2014.
Currently serving as Board Member of Akfen Holding, and Board of Directors Member of Akfen Renewable Energy, Akfen REIT, Istanbul Sea Buses (İDO) and Travelex.
She has enjoyed her YPO network from 2013-2020.
İrfan ERCİYAS – Member of the Board of Directors
Graduated from Gazi University, Department of Economy and Finance in 1977, İrfan Erciyas engaged in the business life at Vakıflar Bank of Turkey. After serving at the Inspector and Branch Manager positions at Vakıflar Bank of Turkey, he was assigned to the position of the Assistant General Manager between 1996-2002 and the General Manager between 2002-2003.
Erciyas joined Akfen Holding in 2003 to serve as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and assumed major assignments regarding, in particular, the privatization of the Vehicle Inspection Stations, Mersin International Port and IDO, the incorporation and investment processes of Akfen GYO and Akfen Enerji, the public offerings of Akfen Holding and Akfen GYO, sales of share certificates from the affiliates and long-term financing. İrfan Erciyas currently occupies the position of the Executive Director at Akfen Holding since March 2010, and he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Member of the Board of Directors in numerous subsidiaries and affiliates of Akfen Holding.
Graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Law in 1995, Sıla Cılız İnanç was employed by Akfen Holding in 1997 after completing her internship on law in 1996.
She conducted studies on Private Sector and Public Sector Partnerships (PPP), company mergers and acquisitions as well as infrastructure, construction, energy and competition law in Turkey. She played an active role in the secondary legislation studies at the Public Procurement Law. She was involved in the entire process, including the bidding and transfer processes of build-operate-transfer, transfer of rights/concessions and privatization practices to which Akfen and subsidiaries are party to and also took part in establishment of the financing structures of the projects and loan agreements, as well as the share and bond issuance transactions of Akfen Holding and Akfen GYO Inc. She conducted studies on company and holding structuring processes.Sıla Cılız İnanç currently serves as the Member of the Board of Directors , Akfen Holding , and Akfen Construction Tourism and Trade Inc. and subsidiaries thereof.
Süreyya Sadi Bilgiç graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics, with a focus on Economics, Business Administration, and Statistics. He received German language education at the Goethe Institute and the University of Munich in Germany.
He worked for 23 years both in Turkey and abroad in various sectors of the private industry, serving as an assistant manager, senior executive, and business owner. His professional experience mainly spans Information Technology and Advanced Technology Applications, the Textile industry, and the Retail sector.
He was elected as a Member of Parliament for Isparta from the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in the 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, and 27th terms of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He served as the Chairman of the Planning and Budget Committee during the 26th and 27th terms. Between February 24, 2019, and June 2, 2023, he held the position of Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Salih Cora graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Law in 2002 and completed his master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations at Yeni Yüzyıl University.
He was elected as a Member of Parliament for Trabzon from the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in the November 2015 general elections. Between 2015 and 2018, he served as Trabzon MP and as a member of the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Committee. He has co-signed numerous legislative proposals and parliamentary research motions and delivered many speeches in the General Assembly.
In the 2018 general elections, Salih Cora was re-nominated and continued his second term as an MP. During this term, from 2018 to 2023, he served as the Chairman of the Turkey-Romania Interparliamentary Friendship Group.
Currently, he is a certified Mediator registered with the Mediation Department of the Directorate General for Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, and he practices as an independent lawyer registered with the Trabzon Bar Association. Salih Cora also holds honorary presidency and managerial roles in various non-governmental organizations.
Graduated from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering in 1992, Ruhi joined Akfen in the same year following his employment at Güriş Construction for a short period of time
He served at various tiers in Akfen Construction Tourism and Trade varying from Practicing Engineer to Project Manager at the construction sites.
Ruhi has been serving as the General Manager since 2005 and as the Member of the Board of Directors since January 2016.
İmge Koçer graduated from the Department of Business Administration at the Middle East Technical University in 2003. After working for Ciner Group and MNG Holding consecutively between 2003 and 2006, she joined Akfen Holding in 2006. Since 2018, she has been serving as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Finance at Akfen Construction. She has played an active role in the Akfen Holding A.Ş. IPO process, bond issuance, company acquisitions, Akfen Construction PPP (Public-Private Partnership) projects, and in structuring the Group’s project financing worth 1 Billion USD.
Alparslan graduated from the Finance department of Gazi University in 1998. After working for Kontur Medical for two years starting in 1996, he began working at Akfen Holding in 1998. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) title in 2007 and is currently serving as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Financial and Administrative Affairs at Akfen Construction. He actively works on accounting, taxation, budgeting, financial auditing when necessary, and other financial matters for Akfen Construction, including its hospital and dormitory companies.
Cem Ortakcı graduated from the Civil Engineering department of Karadeniz Technical University in 1996. From 1996 to 2002, he worked on various projects including Çorlu Airport, Ankara Roketsan site, and the Kurtköy Sabiha Gökçen Airport projects. In 2002, he joined Akfen Construction, beginning with the TED College site. Ortakcı has played an active role in national and international projects, including projects in Iraq, renewable energy plants, hospitals, and tourism facility projects. Within Akfen Construction, he has held several positions such as Director of Bodrum Projects, Project Manager, Site Chief, and Chief of Construction Investment. Since 2002, Ortakcı has been actively serving in various capacities at Akfen Construction and as of April 2024, he continues to work as the Deputy General Manager.
